Friends of Foster Children Superhero 5K & Family Fun Day 2015 Huge Success Raising Over $20,000

LAKE WORTH, October 10, 2015 – Holy Fun Day over 350 Superheroes & Sidekicks, converged on John Prince Park to take part in a charitable run and fun day organized to raise funds and bring awareness to our most vulnerable children, those who are abused and neglected. Friends of Foster Children’s (FFC), 2015 Superhero 5K & Fun Day hosted a superhero-themed 5K, fun run and walk to help make a difference in the lives of these children.”What makes this run so special is that 100 percent of proceeds will go to help FFC’s programs that serve the over 1800 children in Palm Beach County that have been abused so severely they are placed in the care of another.”Making a big splashes were FL Senator Jeff Clemens and Larry Rein, ChildNet Palm Beach, who volunteered their time in the “Dunk A Joker” dunk tank. Special guests Batman, Batgirl and Captain America fueled the crowd with their newly discovered photo op super power. There were plenty of things for the family to do beyond the race including; the Hulk Smash, Spidey Climb, bounce houses, face painting and more. The opportunity to refuel super powers with a delicious $5 pancake breakfast was a delicious addition to this year’s event. Auction and raffle items went with a kaboom including a two-night stay at the Palm Beach Singer Island Marriott, Rapid Tickets, Dining Adventure, Steam Mop, Kenya Barbie collection and much more.

Racers received a commemorative T-shirt and a medal. Sponsors include: Commissioner Level; Invest Finance, Rod Filasky and Friends, Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley and Justice League Sponsors International Polo Club and Jim and Paula Sackett.
